A Major 7.7 Magnitude Earthquake Has Rocked Myanmar And Thailand

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 has shook Myanmar and Thailand. In Bangkok, the police say that one person has died. Another 50 people were hurt when a building in the Capitol fell down. The prime minister declared the capital city an emergency zone. Someone who lives in the city took this video when water was splashing off of a pool on the roof of the apartment building next door. Â
The USGS says the earthquake happened 10 km (6 miles) below the surface. About 12 miles after the first quake, there was a big aftershock with a magnitude of 6.4. This earthquake was so strong that it was felt in Thailand and China, which are both nearby. According to what you just said, at least one person has died in Thailand, at least fifty have been hurt, and we don’t know how many are still missing. Â
All of the people who died or were hurt were hurt when this very big building fell. This video shows that a building is being built. I think you just saw that film. Really, really big. When that very strong earthquake happens, this building falls down in a cloud of dust, sending construction workers running for their lives in the opposite direction as the ground below them shakes very, very violently.
In a different video, we saw that water was falling from a very tall skyscraper with a swimming pool on top like a waterfall. This must have been very scary for the people who lived in Bangkok. We know that the earthquake happened in Vietnam because we saw it happen and it was hit. In the city of Mandalay right now, Mandalay is. The capital of Myanmar’s history and religion. It has a very long past and is home to about a million people. It also has a huge number of temples.
We don’t know how many of those buildings are still standing, though, because of how strong the earthquake was. At least one person who lived there said that the power went out when the earthquake happened around 1:00 PM. It was very scary and they thought they were going to die right then. Â
It is also important to keep in mind, Ravel, that Myanmar is one of the poorest countries in Asia and does not have the facilities to handle these kinds of very strong earthquakes. There’s a lot of fear here, Ravel, because there could be a lot more hurt and damaged people now. People from the fire department have been sent to Myanmar to look for any survivors or people who might need help.
Yes, I was shocked when I first saw the news. Based on our study, this wasn’t a surprise. So, since about ten years ago, my team and the other teams at our center have been looking into the risk of earthquakes in Myanmar. So the earthquake happened along the part of Sagan’s thought that is about plate boundaries. Â
Myanmar has a big problem with this. Since it was found about 200 years ago, this line has been the site of big earthquakes in the last 100 years. And because of these historical studies as well as current GEPHOSSCO investigations, we know that this part of the thought is likely to break as a big earthquake soon. Â
An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 has shook Myanmar

We’ve been talking to the governments of Myanmar and local experts about the high-risk SESIC risk that could be present along this part of DEF FO. So this earthquake doesn’t come as a surprise to us. And by that point, I mean what our reporter was just talking about and pointing out. I mean that you and your team of experts had been keeping an eye on this. Â
The scientific world may have been waiting for this, but the politics in Myanmar right now are very clear. You say that the situation on the ground there might have made it harder for officials there to pay attention to the advice you’ve been giving them. Very well, considering the country’s political and economic situation. I believe that the many towns that are close to the Saganfall are very at risk of earthquakes.Â
So, yeah, as scientists, we do our best to give the people who matter the most the best scientific knowledge. There are also smaller cities along the FO. Strong shaking may have been felt by them as well, since the earthquake was big enough to cause very strong shaking 100 kilometers away.Â
We’ll leave it here. The Shanjai Way. Thanks for being here with us this morning. Thank you, and now I’d like to talk to Jack Brown. He was there when the Quake happened and saw what happened. Bangoki is now talking to us from DC. Jack It’s great to see you this morning. We can see what looks like motorbikes or people speeding by you. Tell me about where you are and what you can see and hear.
It has been a pretty big deal. Going to a client meeting on a high-level highway when I noticed my car was swaying a bit. At first, I thought one of the tires had blown. As I did this, I saw that many of the other cars around me were also pulling over to the left. It looked like people were driving all over the place, and we couldn’t really tell what was going on.Â
The car was still moving a lot after I stopped it. Then I realized right away that it was an earthquake, which is why people were still driving very slowly. There was a lack of knowledge among all parties. No one was driving in a safe way, and all of a sudden, we saw the building fall down. And what I found out later was. Sadly, there are still 67 people who need to be accounted for in that building. Rescue efforts are under way, but Bankog is currently completely blocked.Â
Myanmar Earthquake Update

You already know that Bank Cor Apartments has a lot of high-rise buildings. I’ve been in the car for two hours. Not able to go anywhere. Emergency cars are having a hard time getting through the crowds of people on foot in 39-degree heat. You know. Â
Some people are still not sure if there will be any halfhos. There has been talk that there could be original afterhos and other things like that. Yeah, and just so people who haven’t been to Bangkok know. Just give us a sense. I mean, the city is really very busy all the time. So when this happened, I mean you were there to see what looked like a building fall down. Â
To give me a better idea of what you were seeing and hearing, and the fear that this caused, please. Because this movie is so busy, it’s clear what this would have led to. At first, I think a lot of people thought it was their car or that they were too busy to notice. Oh, and a lot of people who are confused and scared. I think that when people saw the building fall, they got out of their cars right away on the highway and stopped waiting.
I only have one news item about this story that is brand new. Now, the Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand is being quoted by AFP as saying that at least three people have been confirmed dead in the building fall that Bhutu from Thailand was talking about. Here are live pictures from where the 30-story building fell and broke. Â
The Thai deputy prime minister told the AFP news agency that at least three people have been confirmed dead in the collapse of a building that was being built in Bangkok, the country’s capital. At the time, the authorities said that seven people had been able to escape and that 43 people were still missing, but in the last few minutes, the deputy prime minister said that three people had died. Â
The scene was in Bangkok, but the center of the quake was in Myanmar, not far from Mandalay. Also, we just got some pictures from Mandalay’s airport. And I just want to listen to the sound on these pictures, which we are about to show you. At Mandalay Airport, you can see people squished together on the ground.Â
One of the jets can be seen in the background. In this video, voices were heard telling people to “sit down” and “don’t run,” and people were yelling. However, it’s clear that this is very close to the impact in Mandalay, Myanmar, which is about 18 kilometers from the city of Sagin. The shots, on the other hand, were sent to us from Mandalay Airport.
