Overnight, the beautiful city of Kerrville, Texas, experienced a flash flood. According to reports, heavy rainfall and the overflowing Guadalupe River caused the flooding. The state’s emergency response team is dealing with the heavy flooding that happened in the Concho Valley and Hill Country districts early this morning.
The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office reported that many individuals are missing and have been confirmed dead due to the severe flooding in the area. Those areas are going to get more rain. Even a little rain could cause more floods in those places.
There is a constant risk of flash floods from San Antonio to Waco during the next 24 to 48 hours, in addition to the existing concerns in west and central Texas.
10:30 AM: Parts of the Concho Valley and Hill Country are still dealing with catastrophic flooding. A fatal surge of flooding is sweeping down the Guadalupe River from Kerrville to Center Point, then to Comfort and Sisterdale. Stay alert since more heavy rain will cause more floods.
Flood Watch is in effect for the southern Edwards Plateau and Hill Country until 7 PM tonight. An extra 1 to 3 inches of rain might fall in the Flood Watch area. We cannot rule out the possibility of up to 5 inches of rain in certain places over the Hill Country.
